Hippies in Houston
Random, Heather, David and I went to a poetry reading tonight at the Brazos Bookstore off of Bissonett and Kirby. I didn't really know what to expect, but it was actually good and entertaining! They were all PhD students, don't know where from, but they had stories and short excerpt more than poems. I guess what I thought was a traditional poem is not how they all are or should be.
This is just an example of what I really love about living in Houston. Houston has so much hidden culture. I'm like a hippie at heart and I like going to random events such as cultural dance events, and poetry readings, the art car parade, and many more! I just know that when I finally settle down and live in a town for a while I'm going to get involved and find fun town events to go to. Why don't more people do things like that?
This is one reason I would like to live in Austin, TX or in Oregon! Hippies!!

Don’t ask what the world needs, ask yourself what makes you come alive and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive. --Spencer Green
